Default Electric conversion

Hi, I want to convert a 99' SL2 into electric. I found a couple web sites that will tell me what to do. But I wanted to know if anyone has done it before, and what all is required to do it.

Thanks

This might be one of those things that you do for the sake of doing, rather than for the practicality of it.

I'm pretty sure nobody around here has attempted anything like that...those websites will know more than we will

There have been at least a few Saturn S-Series converted to electric, but I'm not sure if anyone on this forum has done it.

That's not an electric car. Though you can pay a company in Cali to convert it to a plug-in hybrid (and void the warranty), and be able to run on electric only for really really short distances. lol

Ya, my 2 choices are a Prius or converting to electric. I found a company that will convert it for $12,000 but I need to find out if that includes batteries. I don't think it does though.

why not get a volkwagon diesel bug because if electric is your answer to gas prices then the bug is better for 2 reasons: gets 40+ mpg and right now where i live diesel is cheaper then regular gas.

Part of it is gas prices, and I want to stop poluting the air. I was also thinking about a turbo desil Jetta and run Bio-Diesel.
