Internal constuction is the key to sound on mufflers. Some muffler sound deep, loud, or mellow becuase of core shape, design, style and what kind of packing is used(if any)and amount. but no matter what you do decide to get; make sure you get a resonator.

I've always have used weapon-r mufflers cuz the are a perfrated steel tube packed with steel wool. my resonator for years until i just changed it has been a 20x3in round spiral lover designed glass pack.

I just changed the glass pack to a magnaflow 22x4in round muffler. much better sound to me.

I noticed most saturns are pretty loud when they go for just a muffler, and i just got a 98 sc2 which i want some exhaust for it. My idea is to get a mellow exhaust, not even deep and of course not loud. So far the only mellow satunr i found was with a super turbo muffler (either from cherrybomb, magnaflow, hursh)

I'm looking for a mellow oval muffler cuz i don't need anymore tickets.

Suggestions? thx

No need for a muffler. It's just extra weight. I am running a high flow cat with 2.5 straight to the rear. looks clean too. Just a slight bend down to clear the bumper. It has an evil growl like a V8. The only down side is the back pop under high RPM deceleration.

It's not as loud as you would think. It has a low deep tone to it (probably all the engine work) When you get on it hard it gets a bit loud but normal driving it almost has a muscle car sound to it. I have to admit the back pop is pretty loud though when you decelerate from a high RPM. idling is surprisingly quiet. I'll see what I can do to get some sound bits together and put them on my site.
