Even if it is, it could be a little warmer air, which contains less oxygen, which would offset any slight increase in air volume.
you are right that more air & fuel in general will mean more power, but it's dependent upon the correct air to fuel ratio. Too much or not enough fuel can mean power loss, and if the PCM can't adjust for the amount of oxygen (amount of air with temperature taken into account), then it can't get the A/F ratio close to the best mix (stoichiometric), and you can get power loss. That's why tuning is so important.
| Thanks for the clarification. I do have a K&N air filter which generally allows more air flow. Therefore, with more air allowed into the air box, the intake should be able to pull more air in. Also I thought Saturns ran naturally rich on the air/fuel mixture anyway. So adding in the extra air should help with that and atleast make the car more fuel efficient. May be in my head or not. But I'm happy with the results anyway.

| well i was obviously implying that you should SAVE until you can do it properly, just like a turbo system or anything aftermarket. if you don't have the money, and want to ghetto rig it, you may find the SMALLEST performance gain, but nothing truely noticeable. you should have figured that out by all the responses this post has receieved already. |

| You aren't getting more air into the engine. It would just be flowing better with an intake. Atmospheric pressure doesn't change. |
