Default Functional aero mods

The car already has good aero (cd 0.33, a ferrari modena has a 0.32) so I figured I could make it better and save alittle gas money and get better highway performance.

So I got questions about 3 things.

1. Front splitter. Do I need to get one that goes all the way across and under the engine like a race car or will those ricerish carbon fiber corner peices be enough? And what will make better downforce, the flat front race style splitter or the jap drift style bumper wings? I'm also hoping this will help get rid of high speed lift and make the car more stable.

2. Rear bumper defusers. Do the even work? I know when designed correctly and when the car is ment to have them they do (GT40, Mclaren, etc). I was looking at the back bumper and its kinda like a parachute, huge hanging thing catching all the air. So I'm thinking they might work well....

3. Huge $$$$ full underbody skid plates, a la Enzo. Will it be worth it and even possible? This could also save me from blowning up cuz of that fuel line issue.

i'd say that a skid plate would be helpful, since the underside isn't really all that aerodynamic.

What about the front splitters teamed up with the west wings kit?

Way too much money wasted for the gains. By the time you see any gains in gas milage to make it worth it, you probably will have had to drive across teh USA over 20 times.

Wouldnt the additional weight form the huge skit plate counter any aerodynamic gains you might achieve in fuel economy?

Yeah cuz the skid plate will be adding more punds unlike a carbon fiber splitter or whatever.

if u are adding down force ala wing or anything like that the coefficient of drag goes up not down... wings do not make u more areodynamic

as far as the skid plate it would prolly work... but depending on what u have it made out of it might hurt performance (steal, cf, aluminum, ect.)... i dont know what the weight to areodymanic ratio of going faster is though..... (does that makes sense... i meant which hurts more or helps more...)

The skid plates would have to be aluminum, carbon fiber is way to expensive and steel is WAY to heavy.

No one said anything about the defusers and splitter...

which is heavier lexan or aluminum.... or does it depend on the aluminum guage?? but u kant go too thin cause itll get beat up way to easy then completely kill the whole point of having it....

as far as diffusers and/or a splitter.... i think from what ive read about the enzo and other cars like that that they help to move and channel the air to exactly where u want it... and for some reason i remember it saying something about adding downforce because of negative preasure.... but i dont know the whole physics behind it.... nor do i know if it would help with the CoD....
