Try to disspell (sp?) that as quickly as possible. You'll look less dumb later, take my word for it.

Yeh, but WRXs don't have a nice sound at all. Every WRX sounds like it's running on a mis-fire.

this post is crazy lol, i never got a chance to read it until just now, but i went to Autozone today, and i was gonna buy a glasspack but they didnt have one that would fit, so i ended up getting a cherrybomb turbo II muffler, how ironic? well im gonna put it on and tell u guys how it sounds. i also had to buy 3 adapters because the inlet on it is 2 1/4'' and i had to bring it down to 1 3/4. but soon ill redo the exhaust from the manifold back with 2.5'' for a really deeper sound

when i first got my car, i removed the muffler....loud, raspy
then i just replaced it with a cheap 3a racing muffler......a lil more quiet, still alil raspy around 3-5000 rpm......
went with 2" mandrel bent piping and catco catalytic converter using same muffler, but no resonator.....compliments from a lot of people on how it sounded, still didnt like it
now, added header.......added glasspeck as resonator with piping and muffler, sounds better than ever....

my advice.....do what you think will sound best to you....i may think my set up sounds the best, you may think something else does.....i kept changing mine until i got what i wanted.
money isnt an option if you do it step by step
the piping, cat, muffler, and glasspeck cost me $245 mounted if you add it all together

wow i dont even know what to do now, i installed that cherry bomb turbo 2 muffler and now its a little quieter, but not any deeper. and it gets just as raspy from 2,000 rpm all the way up. what can i do to make it deeper? im gonna get one of those exhaust tips that look like mini glass-packs and see what happens

Tell me everything you are running for an exhaust right now, and I will tell you why it sucks. A tip isn't going to change much.

right now im running stock, besides that cheery bomb turbo 2 muffler. stock manifold, to stock cat., to stock resinator, to that new performance muffler. the muffler does make it sound a little deeper, and my friend told me to get one of those 25 dollar "performance" tips they sell at autozone. they look like a glasspack on the inside. he said it would make it sound alot deeper if i atatch it to the outlet of my new muffler

And I quote myself again. Those tips don't do anything, and that $25 "performance" muffler not only made you sound like a bumble bee, but probably made you slower. Not sure how, but it did.

Don't be cheap and don't listen to your friend.

i have to a agree....take it from us who have been there, to get rid of that raspy sound ur gonna have to spend a lil bit more money........header, bigger diameter exhaust piping, and decent muffler....u dont even have to go with a resonator, but I would.....
