You can opt for an underdrive pulley on your crank which would help, but you run the risk of crank vibration potentially resulting in crank failure. Besides that you can lighten your car, reduce unsprung weight, or stuff fourteen superchargers on every cylinder! :P
I have the same car and the same problem. I think the auto really chops the ol' nuts right off. I plan on swapping in a manual as soon as I make a couple of dollars. That would open up a lot options.

There isnt much that would help you outside of boltons. You are just gonna have to deal with the lagging power that the car has under 3k rpm in first gear. I have a 94 SL2 with a 95 engine, automatic as well. You will really get used to most cars beating you off the line. I had/have all of the bolt ons (no more pullies), and it still sucked regardless.

How can he take off faster with nitrous? You dont really want to be spraying under 3K rpm.

have you tried reving in netural to 3k RPM then popping it into 1st and taking off?

Other then that your really not going to find anything to make you take off faster.

about 7 out of 10 times in a race with a non honda I get beat off the line but I catch up fast and are usually up to pace into 2nd gear.

if you do get nirtious DO NOT USE IT UNDER 3k you will not get off the line AT ALL!

My bad, I read the post wrong. I thought you wanted to go fast...You could do a couple of bolt ons in the meantime. A good set of motor mounts might help get a better transfer of power to the ground. You also might want to consider a Plasma Booster. They show a gain of about 30 lb. torque at 2000 RPM. Pulleys may or may not help. It is a personal preference. Just a couple of ideas!

Only do this if you want to break your transmission...

Swap it to a manual. If you don't mind blowing motor mounts you can power break on your auto too.
