Default More Power To ya

Hey lilcraigford,

I was in the same boat bro. I went half and half on my 95 Saturn SL1 because yes that body style rocks to me. I am now just starting to do the engine stuff because it does take some money. I had my engine cleaned up and replaced anything i could find that looked bad, on of the best things i did was clean the throttle body and replace spark plugs and wires. My normal 52mm TB was so dirty, after i cleaned it the car felt like a totally different machine. Now to what i am starting, i alrdy have the audio going in and some neon but the next project is i want to lower it with The Sprint lowering springs, then a SPS hotshot ceramic intake. After that cat back and muffler tip, new intake manifold 55 TB, and exhust headers.
That will take me abotu a year to do but i think it will be worth it. Let me give you the best tip ever. SINCE your still young and dont have to pay car insurance SAVE YOUR MONEY. I wish i woulda had 500 bucks saved when i bought that car, it really would have helped for he early fix ups.
Hey if ya need help our cars are about the same except for dohc on yours ask me. Bc i am going the same route you will be lol.

Since you've already had some experience with the TB, you might be interested in boring it out some. I'm not sure whether it will work right on a TBI setup, but I'm sure someone here will know. If you are interested in doing it, you can take a look at a how-to on TB boring on my website in the how-to section at http://www.domesticracingconcepts.com.

Save yourself some money, don't buy the ceramic coated intake.

Just ass rapes you of cash, won't help your performance.

'95 SOHC's are equipped with MPFI which is exactly the same as the DOHC setup. '91-'94 has the TBI

Default Explain

Hey what do mean dont buy the ceramic coated intake, doesnt an air intake really increase SOHC performance. Or do you mean buy the other kind, does ceramic make a noticably difference?

the air doesn't dwell in the pipe long enough to make a sufficient temperature difference to affect performance. Better off getting a stardard intake with a coolbox or just getting a funnel and duct piping to run cooler air to the filter rather than spending more money on a non performance enhancing pipe.
