Talking Header

I couldn't tell you for sure, I have never had a header on a 4 banger, but I do have a header on the strait 6 in my jeep, and every V8 I have ever owned has had them, they do help with the power and mileage department. But the gains are usually minimal, it depends on the header, and how restrictive the stock manifold is. A couple of truths I have learned over the years when it comes to headers, one you get what you pay for, and two I no longer buy any header, or headers that are not ceramic coated. Plain steal will rust like mad, stainless looks and lasts nice, but they both will bake everything under your hood like a 500 degree oven! Also make sure to get a header with a thick flange, where it bolts to the head, other wise you need to get used to changing gaskets very often. The metal gaskets will last almost forever, compared to the cheapy paper/cardboard ones! Good luck!

Most see performance improvements with headers on the s-series over any mileage gains. depending on the design of the header will determine where the gain is.
