| New Trans and Clutch. Ok guys I got the transmission Tristan sent me installed yesterday and also a 6 puck ACT clutch. My mechanic is a retired Saturn mechanic so the job was not to hard for him, I helped with some of the job. I had a mechanic do this one because, this being the third trans, im just tired of doing it without a lift. Also i wanted to know i had a gurantee if something went wrong. I put a non 2001 trans in my 2001. so all the talk about swapping to different hydrolics from other years did not matter, im not sure if on some cars it does and some it doesnt. Now onto the drive, this thing graps like all hell. its amazing. the engagement is an inch from the floor and so sudden its impressive, this thing feels like it would hold some serious power. each shift is crisp and meet with a feeling of the clutch contacting. I like it A LOT. But i can for sure see why this will suck in traffic. It does chatter out of first, but its not bad enough to make me not want it. I cant wait to break it in fully and really drive the car.

| Yep. The 6 puck is pretty neat, unless you're in traffic.
As it wears in, it will get less intense and eventually you'll learn not to chatter it. Glad you like it.

| thats what im hoping, get it broken in and enjoy it. im just very impressed at how bad the old clutch was. the disc itself was ok for the most part, some bad cuts in it. now the plate was crazy. it was about 45 different shades of purple. and look like it had been through 1000000 heat cycles. my mechanic said that the springs looked like crap and probably my problem with boggin was the springs heatsoaked and not disengaging correctly. but yes if anyone is looking for a clutch upgrade, the act is amazing. yes its overkill ill never make enough power to do it justice, but wow for the price and driveability its the best.

| I have a 6 puck disc sitting in my room right now. I bought a used set up with 7k on it for 150, decided I wanted something a little more streetable so i purchased a act performance street disc. 6 puck disc is up for grabs cheap.

| If you don't need the upgraded holding, go with a stock clutch, or a street disk if you must.
