His conversion wasn't his first choice, a friend blew up his 13b and he wanted to be a little different. The conversion was fairly easy with the wiring kit and the engine craddle kit.

The T56 tranny shifter came right throught the floor at the stock location and he used the stock dual mazda rx7 mufflers.

So to all appearances it was an rx7, until you stomped the gas...then it was a monster. It even had the rx7 tweet sound at idle.

One of the easier conversions from what I'm told.

really??? didn't know that (seems to me the vette engine wouldn't fit, cuz 13Bs are taller rather than longer/wider, whereas the V8s tend to be wider/longer than taller (for just the block; no tranny, etc.). You got pics?

I could probably get some, he has since sold the car. The engine/trans combo was actually lighter than the 13b by 100 lbs. and the adapter kit actually raised the v8 up several inches so it would site in the bay properly.

It's quite the rage right now, there's a v8 mazda rx7 forum out there and they help my friend find the supplier of the kits that basically made it a snap to do the conversion.

Don't get me worng, theres was still quite a bit of work involved, but it was fairly straight forward with the kit.

I think it was v8rx7.com that had alot of info on engine swaps.

their next project will be to stick that V16 from the new Bugatti into the RX-7...that'll be intense (1001 hp bishes!)
