Default Renesis engine in an SL2...

so my friend (he's the one w/ the '69 charger, I've mentioned him a couple o' times) MIGHT be able to get his hands on a Renesis Rotary engine. He's always wanted to do something w/ it, and seeing as how I have always loved rotary engines more than "normal" engines, we're gonna see if we can drop the entire drivetrain (6 spd version...hehe) into my satty...don't worry about it being "too big;" it's smaller than my saturn's...

just wondering about your thoughts on this...this will be highly experimental, so I'm not sure if he can actually get the sucker...but damn those engines are SOOOOOO hot.

yeah, ever since ive heard of rotary engines i want one. be about another 10 years before i ever get one but as long as i can get my hands on one of those mazda rx8 ill be happy. its amazing how much power they produce from such a small engine. if you do that you have to take pictures of it.

Hmm...
Saturn is FWD, the Renesis drivetrain is RWD.

You prepared for all that work?

hell yeah, baby! I know it'll be totally redoing the chassis on my car, but I think it should be worth it...then there's the trouble of getting the engine, cuz as of right now it's kinda 50-50 that my friend can get one...he does a lot of black market stuff and the reliability of getting parts goes all over the place (as some of you well know... )

My dad hates the van he has to drive, so when my sister gets her own car, he's seriously considering buyin' an RX-8 (he really wants a corvette, but he doesn't wanna pay $50,000...). So, maybe I'll just sneak over in the middle of the night and drop the drivetrain and run off w/ it...then it miraculously shows up in my car!!

That would be pretty sweet. I think swapping in a 13B and converting to RWD would be the best. These car are so light... drifting would be unstoppable.

Man I'm so good at drifting...on NFS Underground...hehe. I tried it once and I licked balls...didn't have the right tires, I guess

I have actually always wanted a second gen RX-7 w/ the 13B in it; they appealed to me more than the 3rd gens or RX-8...it seems more aggressive to me. *shrug*

Just remember to keep $500 a month on hand for repairs if you get a Turbo 13B...high maintenance engines.

Ever think of putting a Renesis into an older RX-7? That would make more sense, as it is an RWD car and already built for a rotary engine.

At least that is what I have dreamed of doing...
