they have to use a diffusion type of lens on the H4 lamps because it is such a small lamp compared to the larger 9005/9006 in the later SL's. As long as they are using an H4 lamp, it will have a lens to diffuse and disperse the beam.
...so that's why...

Yea i have them, and they aren't blue at all. I'd just look into getting a nice set of silverstars....
Silverstars are not blue either. Neither are most Eurolite bulbs.

ive got optx bulbs in mine, they are made by street glow and they are really good. the only prob is they are like 30 bucks for the pair and if one goes out you have to buy a two pack they dont sell em in singles.

He could buy this Kit I saw at Auto Zone. It featured a sealed beam reflector, and it accepted Halogen H4 lights. With that device, he could easily use blue bulbs.

So are you pleased with the conversion, or would you advise people to just buy new seal beams?

no, buy the conversion, sealed beams are to hard to come buy when you want to go for style! Every car should have interchangeable bulbs not like sealed beams! they are really cheap, watch ebay for some conversion kits, mine was only 30 dollars and they are great! But now im going to convert them to HID lights now!
