Default Turbo On SOHC or DOHC

Ok sorry jus a lil confused here..why would a turbo dohc be better?
i mean i have a 99 dohc sl1 auto so this is good news but why is a dohc so much better?

SL1= SOHC, unless you swapped engines.

As Shaolin said, if you have an SL1, you have an SOHC unless you've swapped the engine. The DOHC starts out with about 25% more HP. Turbo (or forced induction in general) pushes more air. DOHCs, along with some other advantages, have more valves, which let more air through. The 2 valves on a SOHC becoming a huge restriction with forced induction, and people have spent gobs of money turboing SOHCs just to come up with barely better than stock DOHC power. Meanwhile, people have pushed DOHCs from their stock 124 hp to well over 300 hp.

Turbo'ing a SOHC is a big waste of money.

yep.... $400 got me a sl1.5

DOHC head, SOHC block/pistons. was notibly faster but not quite a true DOHC.

my auto SC2 is loads faster
