Default Which Tires?

Well I though I had it all figured out, which tires I was gonna get, but now I'm lost again. THere are so many out there. Heeding warnings of premature wear is useless b/c ALL sport tires wear out quickly. I drive about 12-15K miles a year and I just want a tire that'll last me at least one year.
THese are just a couple options. DOes anyone have any first hand experience that can offer an opinion

Falken FK-451
Nitto NT-555
Kumho Ecsta Supra 712
Michelin Pilot Sport

I had Kumho's on my last saturn and they lasted a while and handled great.

I'd go with the Kumho. Great performance on dry AND wet surfaces, and a good price is what sells me, not to mention that they are really good quality and seem to last longer than most other sport tires.

the kunHO's are ****, too much tread squirm, probbaly be better if shaved but defintly not a ttired id like to drive "vigorously" on.

Pilots are pretty good, but once near their grip limit, they lose real fast.

I have a set of nt555r'2s (275 40 zr17) for autoX/road race, havnt used them yet but needed to replace my r1's.

For street use im running Firehawk sz 50 ep 245 50 zr16, quite possibly the best value in ultra high performance tires. OUtstanding wet, dry traction cpled with a genrous lifetime at 155 a pop, out performs kdw's, f1's etc hands down. Not only that but it has 2 sets of rubber, the toip layer and a bottom layer so traction/later grip stay the same throught out tread wear.

Firehawks are what come stock on Saturns, and they don't last for anything and provide absolutely no traction, but they are decently priced as far as tires go.

I have noticed a tiny bit of squirm with them, but compared to the other tires I've run they seem to be hands-down better. The first 1000mi or so on them they aren't too hot, but after running them down the highway for a month they seem to grip real well in the corners whether wet or dry. I would have to agree on the Firestones though, I had them on my SE-R and they really did kick ass.

I had a flat in my 89's front passneger so i had to get a set of 245 45 ecsta 712's because thats all they had at the local shops's for 245 45 z rated rubber.......boy do i regret it. Shulda just ordered a new set of firehawks from tire rack for all 4. Quite honestly the worst "ultra high perfromance" tire ive driven on next to the old comp ta zr's.
