we just bought a 1998 saturn sc2, we are having a hard time getting the shifter into reverse or drive for that mater. It seems like the button on the shifter isn't realising so you can pull the shifter into the desired gear. can anyone help or have a solution for this problem?
it may be the shift lock solenoid. it will hold press to lock shifter in place untill the brake pedal is applyed, somtimes they done release fully. they run $56.00, part #21003209. I would start there..
