Default AEM intakes

I know there are a lot of users refering to the AEM cai, but when I go to AEM's web site, it says it won't fit my 98 sc2. Is this a catalog error, or is some custom fabrication required. is the CAI that much better than the short ram, thanks

Don't buy from AEM Order from Saturn Motorsports or somewhere else.

The intake will work as long as you have a manual transmission.

I think its the cooler lines that are in the way but not sure. You could always make your own.

The automatic transmission has the transmission filter in the way. The only thing you can try is to use an oil-filter relocation kit on it. I dunno if it'll work, but its an idea.

Only manual trannies can use the AEM CAI product.

They make a CAI and short ram intake for your 98 SC2. the AEM part number is 21-630 for the cold air intake and 22-630 for the short ram intake. You can't buy direct from AEM that I know of but find a local shop to order that part number for you or order from saturn motorsports. They should have either one for you. Last time I was there in person they had them .

Go make your own damned cold airs....sure, not 10 horses gained (probably more like 6 or 7), but talk about money saved.
