Default Anybody tried the Gude sohc

I want to know if the Gude mild cam for the sohc engine is worth the price tag. Has anybody used it, know someone who has?

i was wondering the same thing. i guess no sohc guys have tried it either. i don't want to be the first. i know they said that awhile ago(a few years) they had some problems with a smooth idle with these cams on the dohc cars. that's all i know.

I knew that they had made the cam for the SOHC cars and even wrote at one point to get information on them, but nobody ever responded to my emails about the specs and increases expected by installing one of these units.

I'd like to get the SOHC cam, but I've never heard of anyone using one. Don't know if they're good or not. I don't want to spend the money if I don't know, it could suck for all I know.

I've emailed gude like 4 or 5 times and have not got a response yet. I did get a response from xrc but I would rather hear it from who makes the cam. If no one has tried it by the time I get the money I'll try it and let everyone know how it works out.

Default great cam

i heard that they made a great power increase but the curve on it sucks. you only get the power at the very high end of the gear like 4500-5000 rpm but i would say its probably worth it id say a gain of .3 in the quarter.
