Default big bore throttle body


does any one know if the saturnmotorsports throttle body is as big as the SPS 52mm throttle body? or is there an even bigger one out there?

boring out the throttle body dont you need to replace the butterfly with a larger one? ive been thinking about boring out a throttle body from the junkyard or something see how it is, but i thought it would need a new butterfly on it so i havent done it.

No, I do not do that.

The reason is simple, the gains just aren't as good. Bigger ain't always better.

Are there any dyno proven claims of of a tapered bore TB vs straight bore with a larger diameter?

On a Saturn, no, but the basic concept can be seen here:

That is off a Nissan 2.5L motor. I don't have one because I sure as hell can't afford to pay for someone to do it, but there deffinately is an increase over a straight bore.

I got a 55mm TB, the gain is there but a smaller bore would have worked better. Top end is great, so I guess it's where ever you want the gain.
