Default Dealership charges over $550 for Weatherstripping/Door Seals

Hi Everybody,

The Door Seals/Weather Stripping on the driver's side of my car needs to be replaced, as they leak severely and the seats in my car are soaked. The dealership is going to charge me over $550 to get them all replaced, and this seams crazy given how simple a repair and inexpensive the parts should be!

I have searched all over the web to find an affordable alternative, but haven't succeeded.

I tried to search the messageboard, but I kept getting an error that it was in a "debug" mode, so I appologize if this thread has already been posted.

Could somebody tell me where to get Door Seal/Weather Stripping kits or parts so that I can do it myself? I have a 1995 Saturn SL2 sedan.

Thank you very much for your help!

Take care,

Well, how much of that is parts, and how much is labor? Maybe you can buy the parts at a reasonable price, then have someone who isn't charging a grand an hourk or whatever crazy rate the dealer charges, do the work for you. I'd guess that 2/3 or more of that estimate is labor, so find cheaper labor.

JC Whitney sells a huge selection of cut-to-fit weather seals fo just about any vehicle, we used them on my first '89 F-150 and they worked fine.
