Default do hotshot headers fit w/ air conditioning?

I want to get some new headers (hotshot comes to mind), but I saw somewhere that the SOHC headers are not compatible w/ the SOHC engines w/ air conditioning unit. Is this true for my '96 SL2 (DOHC)?

If so, are there other headers worth getting that do not interfere w/ the A/C unit?

Thanks.

The headers do not get in the way of the A/C unit. You must unbolt the A/C to install the header and it is a pain in the butt, but it still works.

ya itll work. You dont necessarlly have to disconeect the ac to install it either. All you really need to do is undo a couple bolts holdong up the bracket and then loosen one to act like a hinge and then just pull it out toward the front alittle. all you need is like a 1/4" clearance.

heres a pic off mine with the a/c in.

so then did you install the headers on your own (i.e. how difficult is it)?

Hotshot SOHC headers are not available right now because there was a problem in production. A hand full of tri Y SOHC headers were sold, but all the others were recalled by Hotshot. Some retailer, who will remain nameless decided to keep the headers (even though there were never charged for them) and may still be selling them.
Unless the Hotshot header says Hotshot on the flange then stay away because it may not fit with the A/C.
