Default Dorman shift cables

I recently bought a set for my SC2 and I am not impressed. The guide constantlypops out of the longitude cable causing you to lose 2,4,R. I've had this problem with 2 sets, so tomorrow I'm going return these and get oem cables.

I aint never heard of them.

I know of the ones frm Saturn & the ones @ Advance Auto Stores. Joel @ SZP Racing also sells the ones from Advance Auto.

Yeah these are the ones from Advance, they had good shift feel though.

aftermarket shift cables are known for not being that great of quality. Get some OEM ones, even if it means getting used...

Motormite (Advance Auto) shift cables:

Rigged Motormite cables with copper pipe (lasted 2 hard shifts):

Conclusion: only OEM cables are worth a damn.

my autozone style ones lasted 2 days, then bent badly enough to get me stuck in 3rd.

Damn!

Doorman advertises plastic intake manifolds that solve cracking and leaking issues found on OEM designs, but now that I know that they can't even build a shift linkage, I'll avoid those other products they brag about.
