I was not aware that they would sometimes be updated for construction and diversions. I would think that would be a fairly high up function and not available on the more basic models. Certainly I haven't seen it on those.
I have Microsoft Streets & Trips with GPS. It has a construction update but it does not update traffic. I only have it for the United States but the GPS works in Canada.
