yes the sps unit will fit.

same bolt pattern, same holes...shouldn't be a problem.

for the really anal, you can fit the gasket separately to the header and then the head to make sure the exhaust openings line up perfectly, if a little extra gasket protrudes into the pathway, a small half moon file will solve the problem pronto.

later,

baldy

Bldegle2, I don’t think were thinking of the same gasket here…

”you can fit the gasket separately to the header and then the head”…

I need the gasket that goes between the header and the down pipe.
The one on sps is for hotshot and I called 8 times and left 4 messages with them and no response, so I don’t want to deal with sps anymore. Is there any other place that will have a copper gasket or even just a good gasket for the obx?

No - get the SPS copper gasket. Take it from us that have the OBX header with the copper gasket and get it. it works - no questions asked.

He's talking about the gasket that goes between the bottom of the header and the top of the mid pipe, it has three bolts and two holes for the exhaust. Not the gasket between the head and the header.

Mine burnt out on one corner when a bolt backed out. I actually wound up buying 5 different types of gasket material and so far the only thing that has worked (for about 7 months now) is this sheet I bought off ebay and it doens't have a name brand, type, or anything... it's just a solid sheet of metal gasket material covered in a substance similar to duct tape. You trace the gasket you need and cut it out.. and it was hard as hell to cut, even with good shears.

I tried every type of gasket material on the shelf at Autozone, Oreilly's and Advance, none of them lasted longer than a week.

Edit: I did not know an SPS copper gasket would work. That would've saved me a ton of trouble.

Btw, OBX sources their gaskets from another mfr who will not sell them seperatly.

And if you're going to replace the gasket with a custom cut, replace the crappy bolts with grade 8 bolts, lock washers, and lock nuts.
