Default I Love Injen!!!

My Injen intake just came in the mail today, and i LOVE IT!! It has a nice tone to it, and the throttle response is much better... just like they said!!

I have a question though, my battery cover is kinda in the way. It pushes on the intake, and kinda makes it sit funny a bit. But on the cover it says to keep it on, or your battery will die faster or something like that... should i take it off anyway?

i had my battery replaced under warranty and they did not put the heat shield back on. I presume that means it'll be fine. it just protects the battery from the heat of the engine. It might degrade the battery life, but probably not enough for mere mortals to tell a difference.

well just look at it this way. how long did they actually sell cars with those? they stopped and eventually went to a piece of foam and they put the pcm right beside the battery.

injen is a warm air intake pipe which means that it sits inside the engine bay whereas AEM sells a cold air kit for $300 which runs outside the engine bay. you can also buy a cheaper intake pipe and just use that i think injens sells for like 150-180 whereas the intake i bought from streetbeat customs cost me $80 shipped like 2 yrs ago. what kinda saturn do you have? yr make model?

AEM is the best you can get out there as far as intakes go, but you have to have a manual tranny, or else it won't fit right. Injens are good, but you can just buy a cheap one from e-bay, and get the same results (probably slightly different sound). I was actually gonna buy a cheapo one from e-bay, but i came across a deal i couldn't refuse, and went with the injen.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but if you put a functional hood scoop on with a "short-ram" intake, then it'll be considered a True Cold Air. I don't know where i heard it from, but i don't know if it's really true or not.

excuse me but not all short ram intake tubes are the same. If I had to purchase another warm air intake, I'd go Ingen or AEM short ram anyday of the week. I have a vibrant warm air intake and it sucks ass. Looks ****ty, came with a ****ty filter, and the coupling wasn't even the right one. BTW, it's also the same intake as the procarparts.com one and the ebay cosmo intake as well. The only differences in most of these "cheap" intakes is the filter and coupling. If I were to buy another intake, it would be the AEM cold air intake, but for short ram air it would be aem OR injen.

BTW adding a functional hood scoop does not make your intake a cold air intake, it makes your hood a vented hood. a cold air intake is classified as an intake where it places the filter away from the engine bay and relocates the filter to a colder charge of air.
