I just buy the $15 shipped intakes and slap a K&N filter on them. Works great.

"That's a bunk number...that number belongs to:

these are the numbers off mine, the CAI that sells for $79.99 in the link i provided,

C.A.R.B.E.O. #D-533
CP-630 91-99 Saturn DOHC
95-99 Saturn SOHC

the diameter of the aluminum intake tubes is 3".

as far as i can tell, the AEM and this one are the same in physical shape, the only difference is the weight, the AEM being heavier, i have had them side by side.....................................

the thought of paying more than twice as much ($200) for a passive intake that doesn't do it any BETTER than the $80 intake, well, to each his own. some of these CAI's pick up air almost at ground level right behind the bottom of the radiator and are totally exposed to water intrusion, the 'cheapo' one i suggested nestles nicely in front of the left fenderwell, up and out of water, just 5 minutes of minor plastic cutting for the piping, very slick install................

works for me, and i still have a few bucks in da wallet................

baldy

I don't really trust those cheap ones ever since my incident with that crappy Bomz pos. Got an AEM short ram on the SL and it fit exactly how it should and knew after that I was gonna buy a cold air, no matter on cost. Got the AEM cai on my SC2 now and man was it a breeze to install. Took me maybe 20 minutes to do the whole deal, fit like a dream, filter tucked nicely behind the bumper and up above the splash shield that is under the bumper. Just got some heavy rain today so I went driving just to see it if would get wet, went through a couple small puddles, nothing bigger than what I would drive through anyways. Checked it when I got home and the filter wasn't even damp except for maybe a couple drops that went throught the opening in the bumper. Noticed a nice increase in power and throttle response and the sound is very noticable, and it cost me $170 on ebay.

Yeah, still not a valid number. No where near 1 state carb legal (well, minus the non-smog states ahahha), moreless 50 state carb legal.

It looks like the AEM because once you have an initial design, it's not hard to copy it.

i.e. Hotshot intakes. As soon as that came out, so did all the cheapie ones.
Hotshot Headers. Out came OBX and pacesetters...the R&D is the hard part, the copying of another, is the easy part.
