Default ION intakes

i'm assuming these are aluminum u/l and not plastic. can someone provide pictures or more info?

i port 3.8 and 4.6 ford intakes and heads and from what i've seen, saturn has some of the worst intakes ever. the 94-98 3.8 v6 mustang intakes are almost as bad, but are still higher quality than saturn stuff from what i have seen.

would anyone be interested in having me port their intakes? this has got to add a good amount of power. however, i don't have cores nor a market yet, just an FYI for anyone interested.

The ION intake is made from plastic, but I do trust it. The LS1 and LQ9 V8 engines used this kind of plastic, and I never heard of a problem. I read an article from a guy who was trying to port them. Results were like 2 HP to the wheels with hours of time and $$$ from the wallet.

Nah, I don't want to modify my Ecotec manifold.

I am not sure which engine my dads Grand Marquis has, but it is the same V8 that is in mustangs from what I gather. If the Ion intakes are made of the same plastic (some product made by dupont) I would be weary of thinning the material any more than it is already is. There are thousands of cases of cracks forming in the plastic intake manifolds especially near the coolant runner from the repeated heating and cooling of the material. This happened to my dads car. I think if a metal, ported / high flow intake was made it would be better than thinning the plastic of the original any further. Just my $0.02 tho.

*NOTE* I dont know enough to be sure that this is actually possible, but its just an idea I had.
