Default New seats for a tall person

I'm a little over 6ft 2in and my seat is really starting to affect my back. I was wondering if any of you know of an aftermarket seat that would work. The seat in my car is too low, I've tried changing the angle and that only makes it worse, and it if possible I'd like to make a modification to the driver's side seat to make it move back another 6-12".

Well unfortunately, saturns are small cars, so thus their seat room is fairly small. I'm 6' and I have the seat moved back all the way, and it's perfect. You could try moving the entire bracket assembly back by about 6" or so, which will probably work ok. I wouldn't move it back any further than 6" due to space and problems with putting new bolts farther back (the metal might not be reinforced like it is under the seat bracket's current location).

Just a tip: if you get an aftermarket seat, don't buy the APC or other generic crap seat that you can get for like $150 seeing as how they are poorly constructed and will do nothing but hurt your back even more. Get a seat that reclines and has a lumbar support as well that you can sit in prior to buying.

Well I don't think that it's a question of whether or not everyone else fits in THEIR car; everyone has different driving comfortabilities, and joshp's happen to be a bit more spread out than "up against the steering wheel."

Maybe I have long legs and a short torso, I don't know. But it's hard for me to just get in and out of the car. I have to push my legs way up into the firewall to slide under the steering wheel and that's with the steering wheel locked in the highest position possible. I'm actually used of driving cars where my legs were crunched. I drove a 74 modded out bug. But it was comfortable. The steering wheel what higher and the seat was more elevated so that the part of my legs between the butt and knee were supported by the seat. When I adjust the front of the seat up it tends put pressure on my lowback. So basically what I need is a seat that is further from the floor, but that now reminds me. At that point I won't be able to get in th car because I won't be able to get my legs under the steering wheel. I guess the best thing may be moving my seat back through modification.

well if you're that crunched, you would probably be best off if you just bought a bigger car...
