Default question about a/f gauge

ok now i know they are suppose to bounce around but mine likes to go into the lean range most of the time midrange but at certain times it hits rock bottom and sometimes seems to go away. it shocked me, i figured my car was running rich but it hardly ever goes rich and when it does its not bad at all. maybe its just a pos o2 sensor, might as well get a new oe one. maybe they move that much i wouldnt know this is the first time i drove along and watched one.

also if theres a way i can post a video, someone tell me and ill record the gauge so you know exactly how it is.

It's because you have a narrow-band gauge and sensor. It's pointless to even have one unless you want it for looks.

your crazy for even thinking that thing is some what accurate. Now if you had maybe a 3 wire heated with a halmeter then you can maybe trust in it....

actually i do have to say its pretty accurate, i wish i had one that gave me an actual ratio instead of leds, but just yesterday when my belt tensioner went out and it couldnt charge i was able to drive it 70 miles and once i lost all my gauges and practically all lights i watched the a/f gauge and it slowly started headed towards rich then when it was practically off the gauge the car died.
