Default Scorpion hood scoop


heres the hood scoop im getting....im jusst worried about rain....im gonna put a bypass valve on my intake so no water gets through there....im just worried about the rest of the engine.....is it ok to get the other parts of the engine wet.....

Nice hood scoop. The engine should be fine if it gets wet as long as no water gets in the engine. You could have a problem if your coil packs or some electronics get wet though.

Midnight where are you mounting the scoop and what kind of setup will you have as far as your intake goes? Can you explain in a little detail?

i have an XRC Intake and im going to mount it in the middle of the hood and all the way back towards the windshield.....i have a 96 SL2

Hmmm.... two places I could tell you for sure you don't won't water is:

You don't want it getting into your intake or intake filter.

Its probably not a good idea to have water pooling in your valve cover.

Sounds like the intake is safe where its at. But I don't know if water could hard anything back in the back. Sounds like your hole is going to be right above your fuel rail/intake manifold area. I really couldn't say about that particular spot.

I would ask Joey if I were you just to be safe.

how bout if u made a lil cam cover...cover. like the dohc hondas have to protect the top of the spark plug wires as to prevent the possibility of water pooling there. u could probably etch a design on it too.
