Default SPS cat back ?'s

Anyone have experience with the SPS catback system or the SPS headers? How does it sound and how good are the performance benefits (of each)? Quality/Durability?

The SPS cat-back is just a stock system enlarged from a 1.75" piping to 2". Interestingly enough, that'll do considerable amounts to power and sound, but I'd just as soon make my own cat-back, seein' as how it's generally cheaper, and you get the experience.

I thought the SPS headers were hotshot? anyone care to comment? If that is the case, then I have heard nothing but great things about them except that they are not C.A.R.B. friendly...

I'm probably wrong, but I thought headers could be street legal as long as you could hook up the o2 sensor or other emissions sensors to them...?

well, in some areas, there are rules that make nearly anything damned near impossible.

California is one of those areas.

What happens when you switch to headers w/ four paths of exit (4:2:1), you tend to dirty (w/ bad emissions, regardless of whether or not you have an O2 sensor) up the exhaust air, and thus make the cat do more work...so Cali made a law sayin' that it's bad. Bein' an environmentalist and all, I'm glad they did it, but all I can say is that here's one of the few examples I'm glad I live in Arizona...

I have ran the sps exhaust and header for over 2 1/2 years and I have had no major problems that did not get taken care of by John the owner. They sell the hotshot header as well as their own for the 93-98 DOHC cars.

...so they DO sell their own headers...good to know; I need to buy headers and hotshot is being screwy w/ their manufacturing/distribution...
