| Stiff lowering springs? I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a good solid STIFF lowering spring. I'm putting 17's on my saturn and I don't want to bottom it out on the top of the tire if I go over train tracks or something.

| KYB GR-2's are the universal 'stiff' spring for our satty lowering springs of any make and model, but the bottoming out with come from how fat the tire is, essentially if you lower it, but keep a fat tire for a better ride *rolls eyes* like i did, it will rub terribly..
and the best part is the set of 4 usually sells for around 200 or so |

| I was gonna go with the KYB's no matter what. But I was looking to see what luck people have had with springs. It's good to know people say the eibach's are weak, though.

| Just look at the spring rates, the HandR Race springs are the stiffest along with ebay coilovers. Have fun riding on either of them.

| You won't have any problems hitting your tires with 17's and any drop. I got the Progess springs, which I can't even seem to find anymore, that are rated at 1.8" but have settled to almost 2", 17's with 205/45/17 rubber and they don't even get close to rubbing. I hit the bump stops before it even thinks about hitting the tires. I shoulda gone with 215 though, I got more gap than I like right now. |

| no, eibach is like the ubergod of good ride and somewhat of a drop, pretty close to stock stiffness though
if you want stiff struts, do not get the kyb's ... unless you wanna spend mad cheese on coilovers, your only other option is the springtech struts they sell on ebay. i have them, and they are definetly stiffer, and still ride great. i am super happy with these struts and the sprint extreme springs... theyre not the stiffest, but i think they match the struts about as well as you're gonna get from a spring/strut combo
the h&r race are probably the stiffest you can get, but aint no strut out there available for us thats good enough for it. |
