Default VUE CONSOLE TOO LOW

I JUST BOUGHT A 2004 VUE AND I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE DRINK HOLDER/CONSOLE:

IT'S TOO DARN LOW AND ISN'T DRIVER FRIENDLY AT ALL!

HAS ANYONE FOUND AN AFTER MARKET CONSOLE TO FIT?

HOW 'BOUT A DECENT ASHTRAY?

THANKS ALOT,
1853 TBONE

TOO FUNNY ABOUT THE HAMMER

I GUESS I'LL KEEP SHOPPING TO SAVE $20.00...IT'S NOT PRACTICLE NEITHER IS THE CONSOLE...

IT'S TOO OBVIOUS THAT THE PEOPLE WHO DESIGNED THE CONSOLE HAD VERY LONG ARMS AND DIDN'T THINK IT WOULD BE A PROBLEM FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE TRING TO WATCH THE ROAD AND GET A CUP OF JAVA.

IN AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURING WE CALL THAT THE FOLLOWING;

"ENGINEERS DREAM & CUSTOMER'S NIGHTMARE"

1. Welcome to the spot

2. turn off the caps and bold (lol)

3. Pickup a console off another VUE at the part shop or somewhere, cutt of enough of the bottom so that it is a comfortable height, then fabricate it together from the inside using resin and some fiberglass overlay for extra strength then bolt it back down. The key is going from the bottom up so that you can still use the bolts and holes on the console itself.

Its a bit extensive but will give you a nice stock custom look.

if you want any help with the project hit me up on here, PM me or IM me on aim at Coupe2002ex. If you lived in CT or nearby I'd even stop by to help out. I worked in a boat yard for 8 years so I know a bit about glasswork.
