Default What would you like to have improved

Seeing as I am a machinist and I am looking for anyway to make a little extra cash, what would you like to see machined, made, or improved on you car? I am looking for ideas and if I can make or design what ever it is you suggest I will offer that service. I already make the Taper Big Bore Throttle Bodies and the True Short Throw Shifters. So any other ideas?

The only thing I can think of is an idea that just popped in my head - a clutch travel shortener. Basically, something to attach to the clutch pedal somewhere that stops the clutch before it goes all the way to the floor. The driver would have to figure out the clutch engagement point and adjust it properly, I suppose. Not sure this would be worth it for daily drivers, but for those that race competitively, maybe it'd be worth it?

Just something that popped in my head. *shrug*

Sunroof guide replacements that are cheaper than the aluminum ones from SunroofDoctor... $160+ seems pretty steep for two small pieces of metal and a handful of rivets.

Big-bored throttle bodies would be nice too, though i'm not sure how much it'd cost to make the larger butterflies.

its not the butterfly problem, its the fact then when you straight bore it out you blow right into the vacuum line hole. if you could get me dimensions on the sunroof guides, i could make a prototype.

Great to see you do differential welding now too! Maybe if there's enough demand you could do the ring gear installs on Quaife LSD's too?

Would it be possible to do a full bore, with the exception of the vacuum holes? Boring everything except a small, smooth slope over the vacuum ports?

As for the dimensions on the guides, I haven't the slightest clue, nor do I have a caliper to measure it with. It was more of a pipe dream I guess. :P

Oh, I've seen the clutch stopping guy...but you can just get rubber stops from a hardware store and cut them till they work...I saw that at an e46 forum a while back.

Machine me some gauge pods!

I’ve seen a clutch pedal stopper before in a catalog. I forget where but I will search for it. it wasn’t that expensive I don’t believe.

Just curious vms but do you have access to a CNC Milling Machine?

Unfortuantely I cant think of anything practical that you could create.

Yeh, if you have access to a CNC machine or waterjet or anything similar, I have the CAD file of all 3 exhaust flanges. I'm sure people designing their own manifolds wouldn't mind a source for flanges.
