i just did mine white to match the car i run a vinyl store on the weekends and i cut some circles to covers over the lights and cut a website out for the middle reflector and i used laquer paint with primer. i did not sand mine and they are awsome. once i painted it when it got tacky i peeled the vinyl off. so i only have small circles for my tail and sigs and a web site for my ferlector. laquer paint will work better.

Fine is one thing, looking like it came out of the factory that way is another. I'd challenge anyone to look at my tail lights and tell me they're not factory.

hmmm, I had an idea.....
You know the rear window vinyl stuff used to do graphics on rear truck windows? you can see thru it only one direction?
well why could you use a solid color of that over the light? so when yout urn them on, light still comes out...... but looks solid when off. ?

i run a vinyl shop, it is possible to do that but only with certain colors. plus if for say you use blue vinyl over red taillights - guess what color your tail lights will be? purple so you might get alot of **** from police.

Check out my tails and centerpeice with I tinted them with Nightshade's Transparent Tail Light paint they came out pretty good. My only suggestion would be just to take your time and dont do too may coats or they'll be too dim after your finished just get them clear coated or you can always try several coats of Krylon Crystal Clear. But theres a pic of them with my parking lights on at dusk at my cardomain page.

Another question - are you guys tinting the inside or outside? Someone I know with a focus tinted the outside of her tail lights and said it wore off after a while, so she's working on tinting the inside. Anyone have experience in which works/looks better?
