Very true... If anyone wants to take the paint off of any plastic pieces...

Go to the nearest auto store or Wal-Mart or even a gas-station. Pick up a couple bottles of DOT-3 brake fluid and some sort of container big enough to place your plastic part in. Fill the container with the brake fluid. Submerge the painted plastic in the "bath". Let it sit for a few minutes. Brush/wipe off paint-peelings with a toothbrush (good for those tight spaces) or rag.

read the post above yours, it tells how to take the paint off with brake fluid. so just strip them and redo it.

Just get something to soak them in, I'd give them about 15-20 minutes apiece (or soak them both at the same time if you have enough DOT-3), then scrub em good with the forementioned toothbrush (NOT wire brush!!!) or rag. If that's not enough time, soak em a little longer (keep an eye on them at 5 minute intervals) and scrub again. Follow up by rinsing with water.

Be sure to let the housings dry out before putting the bulbs back in. On my SL2 I jumped the gun and they cracked from the heat/pressure buildup inside (or so I'm thinking).

I had my SC1's tails tinted. Want to do my ION's as well. I will eventually get to it, but not just yet.

For pics on my sc1, go to

I've decided to do mine and I'm going to try the sanding approach. I really don't want to have to deal with it coming off. I need some pictures to show off my sexy wagon. I'll get right on it when I get the chance... hopefully tomorrow. I'm sure everyone will love my gold and green leather interior.
