Default 92 SL2 no SES light

I'm new to this forum and looking for help.

I have just picked up a 92 SL2 5 speed that a goat was using for something to stand on (really). The Problem is I get no Service Engine Soon Light and no Chime. My scanner will not connect to the ECM. I have tried swapping the ECM and checking for all the the correct voltages but no luck. I have check all the fuses are good.

The Chime maybe related, maybe not.

Any Ideas?

if you are not gettig a chime. check the chime module, when they go bad they wont work and theres a bunch of stuff that works off the chime, it is located under the radio on the "I think " drivers side of the fuse box.. It is a little ruff to pull out..

Welcome to the Board.

The SES light not coming on could just be that the bulb for it in the dash is not working. I assume that when you say it is not comong on itt is during the bulb self check when you turn the key on????
The chime could certainly be the chime module as jonnyrocket92 said.

I think that what you need to do though is to let us know exactly what the problem is that you are tracking down. Is the car not starting? Nothing happening when you turn the key? Car starts, runs rough?
Give us more info.

OK so to bring you all up to speed. The car does not start. It has spark but no fuel. I have checked and replaced the SES bulb. My scan tool will not connect to the ECM. I have tried replacing the ECM but this didn't help. I have also changed the Chime module but it still does not work. Related? It’s been a busy day. I guess the next step is to find a good wiring diagram. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a second 92 SL2 but it is an automatic. Close enough to compare?

Thanks

Have you checked for fuel pressure? Does the car even have fuel in it? Did it sit for a looooooong time with fuel in it? If so perhaps the fuel has gone bad, perhaps fouled up the fuel system.
When you turn the key on do you hear the fuel pump priming?

If the car had goats on the roof perjhaps it had rodents on the inside chewing wires? Have you checked up under the dash? Have you checked all of the fuses in the car with a test light?
