Default 1995 Saturn S1 Hard shift Automatic

I was having tranny problems. Purchased a used transmission. It runs good, but shifts hard from 1st to 2nd. I was told it was common in this model that I shouldn't worry about pulling the tranny out and returning it while its under warrranty. What should I do? Any help apprecaited.
