I have an 04 VUE with the 'plastic' panels. There are several surface scratches that do not go through the paint that I would like to try and buff out. My VUE is black and most paint 'side swipes' are white (Blame HUBBY, not me!) I have read that some polishes will swirl or damage the plastic panels where all of my scratches are. One person suggested using a 'Mr Clean Magic Eraser' which is non abrasive to buff them out with warm water. I don't want to end up with a seriously swirled car but I cannot afford to take it somewhere and have it worked on.

Does anyone have any tried and true ways to buff minor scratches without damaging the panels?

there are a lot of buffing things you can try. I "personaly" use maguires, and just buff the crap out of it, and run the buffer at 1000 to 1500 rpm. and it turns out nice.
