Default Oxygen sensor replacement

I need to replace the oxygen sensor that sticks out of the exhaust manifold (not the one attaced to the catalytic converter) on my 97 Saturn SW2. There seem to be several different options. I want a direct fit (the sensor can be unscrewed at one end and simply plugged in a the other):

There are single wire and 4 wire sensors, my current sensor has one wire coming out of the sensor so I'm assuming its a single wire.

The parts retailers online identify the engine as either vin 7 or vin 8, I ran my vin on a online vin decoder (with my car's serial # xed out) and it was not recognized. I haven't done an exhaustive search on what vin 7 or 8 means and the VIN # has both 7s and 8s in it. I was hoping someone else knows something about this dilemma. How do I know which version of engine I have?

thanks,
Gregorye70
