Default Buy a Saturn (Aura XR) at THIS time????

Is it smart to buy a Saturn these days, now that the brand has gone defunct??
Or is it folly?

There's some good buys out there on recent-model Saturns, but even a dollar is too much if you can't get it serviced or get parts.
Am I correct in assuming that warranties (100,000 power-train, and 36/36,000 total) are still being honored for the 2007-09 models, and are transferable to new owners??

Also, does anyone know if you can buy extensions to these GM warranties (at the dealers, likely) before the original warranties expire? I'm talking about the "certified" warranties from the mfg, not the after-market companies that offer warranties.

I have read that the Aura is almost just like the Chevy Malibu; and the XR has the 3.6 engine from Cadillac, right? Do these engines last a long time if serviced properly? I recently saw an '08 Aura XR but with 87K on it, for a pretty good price, but was scared away by the high mileage.

Any comments or suggestions about buying one of these "lame duck" Saturns?

thanks so much for taking the time.

Rick

Rick:

How many times, in how many threads, in how many forums do you need to ask the same question?

It's kind of a lame folly from a duck.

Default How many forums? I guess until I receive a civil answer to my questions.

I did not realize that posting the same question in several different Saturn forums on the internet was somehow inappropriate;
So, RjIon, did I inconvenience you in some way by doing this? Or do you just enjoy sending crabby messages to new members of Saturn forums?
I have no way to know that the same person reads my post in several different forums, and more importantly, that this would somehow offend this multiple-forums member.
Someone has too much time on their hands, I think.
