Default 91 sl1 sohc running rich

Hello Everyone… I trust you all had a great weekend.. Beautiful weather here in Michigan. For a change.
Anyway down to business. Recently I replaced the alternator and I had the battery disconnected for a few days. Ever since the car seems to be running really rich.
My fuel economy has gone through the floor. It idles erratically when started, i.e. it will start up and shoot to 3500 rpm and then die out. The next time I start the car it will idle fine around 900-1100 rpm. Accelerating seems to be ok, but when cruising around 75-80+ mph the engine feels like it is missing. I get a lot of hesitation when trying to keep a steady speed on the freeway. . I replaced the spark plugs and that alleviated the problem for a couple of days. (old plug gaps were way out of spec) Any suggestions on what may be the cause of this is greatly appreciated..

First guess would be the ECTS (engine coolant temp sensor)

Other than that maybe:

plug wires
TPS
coils
EGR

Problem was a bad vacum line to the map sensor... $3.50 in
