Default 93 SL2 stalling, now wont start

Alrighty, here we go.
My problem...93 Saturn SL2, 183k, manual tranny, no problems with it until this day, save having to replace the passive restraint computer. Was driving to my friends house, came to a stop sign, clutched, RPMs dropped out and the car stalled. Weird...Fired her back up, continued on my way. Next stop sign, clutched..RPMS bottom out, stall. Ok...goto fire her back up, instant it starts, RPMs drop off and i stall. OK, so now this is gettin annoying. Go to start it, then i rev it like a mother, blow all the stop signs, and down shift and E-Brake to slow down and make turns to get the car to my friends house.

Ok, now the next morning. Im figuring maybe my car had some bad chinese (crappy gas) so i put in a thing of valve cleaner. Now I go to start it, thing wont even start. I get out my jumper box, jump it, and rev the engine to keep the RPMs from bottoming out. Finnaly after about 2 minutes, it finnaly idles so i can put the jumper away, and drive off. Blowing stop signs, down shifting again to get home. Now I'm home, thing wont even start with a jump, reeks of sulfer, and makes noises...that no engine should make.

Anyone wanna help me dive into this...i dont even know where to begin.

The sulfur smell is normally associated with a bad / clogged cat. This can cause crappy performance. But not sure why it is stalling when pressing the clutch, and not starting.

Your cat could have fallen apart, and the cat's remains gotten caught in the back, making it almost impossible to get the exhaust out and choking the motor.

However, I could be completely wrong...hope not.

Default lol, this sux

damn, stumped you guys too huh? Well, at least I dont feel so dumb now. I'll probably have it towed to the dealership tommorow.

I'm just really hoping the mechanic dosnt look at it and go "I found the problem" and point to the odometer. lol

lol.

Dude, I don't know if you can wait a day or what, but if you can, wait untill Joeydoughnuts, Sciaserman, or wolfman have enough time to reply.

The last 2 are saturn techs, and Joey may as well be.

BTW, catalytic converters are not too expensive, they are easy to install, and the igh quality ones are good for a performance boost over stock.

Thump the cat under the car. Guys have told me that if it rattles, then your cat is toast, and you need a new one.

Also, I once had a Honda that felt like it was ready to stall out, and when I checked the PCV, it was full of slime so it couldn't function. A PCV is easy to replace, and they don't cost much.

Before you even TOUCH the cat, change the ECTS first.
