Default 94 SC2 Front Suspension

My 1994 SC2 still has all original front suspension parts in it. Not surprisingly, after almost 200,000 km things are starting to get a little tired. It doesn't help that the last 5 km of my trip home at night and then out again in the morning is on very bad dirt roads. Sometimes I think I need a periscope to see up out of the pot-holes. I was wondering, does the car have shocks or struts in the front end and will I need a srping compressor to replace? I had the front-end aligned about 4 months ago, am I going to need to get it aligned again once finished?

I am quite mechanical, so I will be doing the work myself. If I had checked this morning I would know the shock/strut answer but I didn't and I am trying to plan out my evening.

I may be mechanical but I am not arrogant and certainly don't know everyting about this car so if anyone has any 'here's how to do it easily' suggestion, I am all ears.

Thanks in advance,
Sean

Struts front and rear.
Spring compressor and a healthy respect for the springs when they are compressed. You will need an alignment afterwards.

Repalcing the sturts is not rocket science so if you have done it on any other strut equiped car then you should be good to go on the Saturn. To get the rear struts off you will need to get the rear window shelf cover off to expose the strut mount bolts.

Default Thanks a bunch

I know what I am up against now, so if I can borrow the spring compressor from my local auto-parts store on the weekend, this will be a Saturday job.

Thanks very much for the help. I never would have though of looking under the rear window deck for the tops of the rear struts.
