Default 94 TBI SOHC to 93 DOHC Swap - Need Help!

Hey gang,

started the swap over the weekend in 15 degree weather...

everything went fairly well, considering I had never pulled a FWD engine before and the fact that I couldn't feel my damn fingers!

Anyways, I started pulling out the old wiring harness, and will probably finish that tonight... what I'm wondering is...

HOW DO YOU GET THE ENGINE BACK IN WITH THE TRANNY INSTALLED?

I'm having major clearance issues and don't wanna farg up my new clutch by squishing it between the engine and tranny bellhousing.

Should I jack the tranny up at an angle? Should I drop the engine in kinda sideways? HELP! please...

I've gotta get the engine in TONIGHT... here's what's installed:

ON THE ENGINE: Idler pully, Tensioner pulley, the water pump and it's pully and the crank pulley and on the other side is the clutch.

Any and All help appreciated!

your not supposed to remove a saturn manual equiped car engines from the top! you cant align the clutch, itll be a nightmare might as well drop the engione cradle now, get it all assembled then hoist it up, using a chain and a hoist its MUCH easier to position the cradle to line the bolts up, i wouldve thought youd have known by now not to attempt a manual trans car engine removal out the top.
i dont know why ANYONE goes out the top, its SO easy to drop the cradle and have everything accesible right there in front of you, out of a 100 swaps we MIGHT do one or 2 out the top but RARELY, 98% of the time ALL , autos and 5 speeds,we do from the bottom, thats the right and easy way to do it.

I never did mine out the bottom any of the 4 times I've had it out. Out the top works okay if you angle the tranny down, don't have the intake manifold or alternator on, and go slow. Oh, yeah, don't have any of the pulleys on the engine either. It'll go in, trust me.

Got it in thru the top by removing the upper and lower tranny mounts and shoving it back about 2 inches with all the pulleys on!

It's in there now, but the damn axle mount that mounts to the engine block is upside down... grrrr

Found an easier way to get this bracket flipped without re-pulling the engine...

Remove the strut and steering ball joint... pop the axle outta the tranny until you can flip the bracket and put it back together!
