This is my first question here, and I have a two-parter.

I drive a 95 SL2 with about 72,000 on it, bone stock.
Recently I had the rotors turned at Saturn service because they were pulsing. The tech said he never detected any pulsation, but I've been feeling it for months. It was mainly noticeable at lower speeds as the car was approaching a full stop, and never seemed to contribute to any steering wheel shake at all. He offered to turn the rotors in any case, and now the pulsing is nearly imperceptible - I say nearly because I really think I can still feel just a little tiny bit.
This has been a problem on a recurring basis since the car was new, as the original owner explained and showed me in the service records. I can't find anything that says there was a recall or similar action taken due to this sort of problem, but I can't help thinking the problem is deeper than rotors that like to warp often.
The second part of my question is in regard to brake feel, or lack of it. My pedal doesn't feel soft or go down too far, but I get the distinct feeling the brakes aren't biting as hard as they should for the amount of pressure applied. My only basis for comparison currently is my wife's 2000 Jetta which has brakes that could seemingly eject you from the car if you weren't belted in. Granted, that's a high bar to set for a going-on-10-years disc and drum setup, but I can't help thinking the Saturn should do better. Any thoughts on what to check or have checked? The tech at Saturn said the pads all looked fine, and saw no problems anywhere. I do know it's been at least 20,000 miles since the brake lines were bled, if not longer. Time for a fluid change, or maybe just a bleed?
