Default 97 sc2 exhaust question

does anyone have any idea what the diameter of the stock saturn exhaust piping is. was interested in buying an sps performance muffler and was wondering if it would fit without any adapters. was also wondering if anyone had any input on this muffler such as the sound and driveability.

1.75 and 1.88 are pretty close dude, your ruler may be a little off or the "official" measurements might be wrong as well. either way, it's close enough that if u get a muffler with a 2" inlet, an adaptor piece of piping won't be a problem, they have them at the shop premade or will expand a piece for like a dollar

1-7/8" OD, maybe. I forget now.

Either way, there are quite possibly better resolutions than an SPS muffler. Borla, Flowmaster, Magnaflow, and so on have a nice choice of stock-looking mufflers that give an aggressive note and improve fuel economy (usually).

The pistons will pump out the same exhaust fumes regardless of what muffler is on there.
