Default Adding 134a to an empty system

Hello..

I have a 95 SC2 that came with 134a (not a conversion). When I bought the car, the system was opened (damaged condensor). I have since replaced the condensor and put everything back together. I bought a kit to add freon from the parts store, but I'm having some odd problems adding this. I have some questions.

Should I try tripping the pressure switch to make the compressor run??

I tried adding the contents of the can, the pressure (on the low side) went right up to 'green level'. But now I realize that this may be just the gas and not the liquid. Should I turn the can upside down??

Any other advice/help would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

put the bowl in warm water, and it will vaporize and flow in more quickly. Dont' run the compressor without some stuff in the system.

Don forget you need to add oil to lubricate the compresor. It may be included in the refrigerant refill or u may have to buy it separatley.

Depending on what the instructions on the recharge kit/can of R-134 say the can should be held so that the liquid R-134 is going into the system.

Any instructions with the kit that say other wise will over ride what I have just said.

Oil should certainly be gotten into the system as well as a holed condensor will have spewed oil out of the system. Some times taking it to the pros is best. You will not know how much oil to put in and you will never know if you got the right amount of R-134 into the system by using the cans in the kits.
