Default Aftermarket rims -Hubcentric/Lugcentric

alright...be it the new guy to keep asking questions....but another question...i'm looking to get aftermarket rims for my '95 SC2....17's wrapped in 205/40s....now i was reading a bit about hubcentric and lugcentric mounting....is it a benefit to get the spacers to make a true hubcentric fit on the wheel?....they seem to be fairly cheap $40....

orrrrrr.....is this all just a hunk of BS?

ok anytime you get new wheels you should change the lug to an acorn setting. (more pointed on the end) that usually sets the wheel as much center as it can. but for the best ride i would reccomend getting the hubcentric rings as the same time. it makes it easier and the ride wil lbe alot different. so yes get the hubcentric rings. the lugcentrics rings that i would reccomend have a small shank on the end so teh helps out as well. but they cost more so jsut get the hub rings.

What are hubcentric rings and do you need them? Sorry I don't know anything about rims, just that they look good.

hubcentric is exactly that: all of the weight of the rim is rested on where the hub connects to the rim.

lugcentric has the weight of the rim resting on the lugnuts.

hubcentric tends to give a more "accurate" ride w/ less stress on the lugnuts (ideally you tend to want the least amount of stress placed on the lugs as possible).
