Default Auto Trans Problems

In December, my 95 SL2 DOHC (92k miles) began having problems. After it warmed up it would shift hard (like it revved past where it should shift) from 1-2 and 2-3. Reverse was gone after it warmed up.
I paid a trans service center $300 to tell me I had a bad valve body and torque converter.
I let my car sit til februaury. I got a junk trans from junkyard for $350 w/80k miles & 6 mo warranty.
The local community college I attend was going to replace it for free! They never got to it! Kind of glad they didn't, because I heard they do one hell of a sh*t job!
Thats OK, I had wanted to do it myself anyway, but now I wasted 2.5 months.
So 3 weeks ago, I took 2 days and did the swapping myself. Everything went well. Or so it seemed. I took it around the block and it leaked like mad!!. It seemed to be coming from the Torque converter/Flywheel inspection plate. I figured it was a bad o-ring. This past weekend I took it back off, replaced the torque converter o-ring and it still leaks (not nearly as much though). I have put 2 different type of STOP LEAK in it!

Any suggestions? If I can't fix it I'll return the trans and either rebuild the old one or get another one from 6th planet. ANY IDEAS/COMMENTS/SUGGESTIONS?

Have you thought about taking it to a shop to have them fix the seal?

I'm thinking about taking it to the junkyard - they said they inspected it before i took it. They should diagnose/fix the problem.
