Default block heater

Alrighty. I'm looking for a block heater for my 02 engine. (the 94 heater won't fit!)

I don't really have $70 to give to Saturn Corp. for their BBQ lighter version. Zerostart doesn't suggest using one of their inline models, as Saturn lower rad hoses are too level. I don't want to have to go to a magnetic oil pan deal, as they're not real good at what I want them to do.

So, anyone have any ideas at all? Access to a newer Saturn in a wrecking yard with a block heater?

Jim

Try a wrecking yard to see if they have one. I think it was in the 97 MY year that they went to the different one. If not 97 then definately 98.

I can't understand why that Joey guy didn't send you one with the new engine. Very inconsiderate. :P

I've got the call out to local wreckers, but none of them will likely sell me a block heater, as they consider it a vital part of the engine. (dumbasses)

Pick Yer Part doesn't have any Saturns new enough to supply the one I need.

Joey didn't send me one because he doesn't get them. Ever. I'm sure if he did have one, I'd have it by now. Joe's cool like that.

Alright, I'll see if I can find it in my storage room and I'll send it to you. If not, I'll grab one at the wreckers and send it.

No markup, you pay postage?

Yeah, I'll go for that. The whole Canadian/US thing ought to be interesting.

Those things are hard to find around here, but since I live in a cold climate, it'd be nice to have one. Hell, my old '01 SL had one and I bought that car in Florida! (I knew I'd end up somewhere cold and wanted to be prepared.) If the heater hadn't been stolen with the car, I'd offer to do a swap with you.

Cool, I'll hit PYP this weekend to see what they've got in stock. Shouldn't cost more than a couple of bucks CDN. Shipping will probably be around $3-5 somewhere.

Thanks. The thought of keeping a toasty block warms my heart. LOL.

Heya. Went to PYP and they just pulled all the Saturns out at the same time, so there's nothing there. I'll keep my eyes peeled though. They're coming in pretty regular now.
